I think they both suck. But OKCupid is a little more thorough. POF is full of spam and crap.

I like OKCupid because it shows how much you would get along with people. POF doesn't offer that + I dislike the function "xxx would like to meet you", it feels like people whistling at you in the street: if you want to meet me, come and talk to me.

I prefer OkCupid because it's less obtrusive as far as trying to get me to spend money on their site. With PoF, I feel like I'm being constantly bombarded with requests to "try this for the low low price of all your money!" With OkCupid, there's much less of that (although more than there was the last time I was single) and they're more suave about it.
